What is it like to work for The Charlton Group-
Company culture
We are passionate about technology and enjoy tinkering with ideas outside of the office. We regularly share insightful articles about innovative solutions to technology problems, and discuss the clients we support. Everyone is encouraged to provide their insight and opinions no matter how many years of experience. We believe that an open dialogue among our peers drives our success.
Work Environment
We maintain a low carbon footprint by utilizing a virtual office, virtual servers in a SAS70 data center, and a cloud based phone system. Our daily work at customer offices is typically a local train or car ride from where we live. Our clients are small elite healthcare and financial firms some of which are leaders in their industry and renowned worldwide. While each client company offers its own specificities the work environment is usually fast paced, hands-on from a technology perspective, and highly focused on customer service. Our work makes a difference and contributes to our clients’ success.
How do we differ from a large company? In a large company, the technical staff typically works in a narrow technological area. At the Charlton Group each staff member is responsible for supporting a broad range of technologies. While customer interaction may be limited in a large company, we constantly interface with our customers and play a vital role in their businesses.
How do we differ from a small company?
In a small company, where you are the only IT person the work can quickly get repetitive if the business does not embrace new technologies. In contrast, at The Charlton Group you will be challenged as the go-to person for 1 to 3 clients, and will have the opportunity to work with other team members on various client projects.
How do we differ from an independent contractor? As a contractor, you enjoy your independence and the diversity of working with several customers. But, you are often pull away from what you enjoy doing the most, dealing with technology, because of tasks associated with running your own business, such as accounts receivable collection, pricing, sales, accounting, healthcare insurance, to name a few. Working for The Charlton Group you will continue to manage your own time and work on diverse clients’ project, but without the administrative and commercial burden involved in managing a business.
Are you a technically gifted Systems Administrator? Do you enjoy helping businesses and individuals employ technology to their competitive advantage, BUT you become bored to tears doing the Same Old Thing, day after day? If so, consider The Charlton Group!
